B Psych – Provisional Psychologist.
Sophie Rosenblatt is a provisionally registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, offering psychological services at Vision Psychology.
Sophie uses a caring, sympathetic approach to support people to live rich and fulfilling lives, whether by addressing specific challenges, or further developing resilience during times of relative wellness.
Sophie has experience working with adults and children with intellectual disabilities and their families, developing strategies to support communication, improve relationships and increase independent living skills.
She also has experience working in the field of corrections, with adult male prisoners with a particular focus on risk assessment and management as well as supporting the men to develop their capacity to manage the challenges of incarceration (eg transition from the community, separation from family and social support, uncertainty about the future). Working with some of the most disadvantaged members of our community has strengthened Sophie’s passion for accessible psychological services for all.
Sophie is interested in supporting people from all walks of life to build on their strengths and develop skills that help them to feel empowered to face challenges as well as to thrive in times of stability. She works with her clients to find an evidence-based therapeutic approach to moving towards psychological wellbeing. Types of therapy offered include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness and relaxation training.
Sophie also has a keen interest in providing a range of psychology services for clients experiencing the following issues:
- Anxiety and related disorders such as:
- Feeling preoccupied with fear or anxiety
- Stress management
- Burnout/Loss of motivation
- Improving general psychological wellbeing
- Adjusting to life transitions such as:
- Leaving school/tertiary study
- Re-entry to the workforce after a period of time (e.g. due to unemployment, parenthood, self-employment etc.)
- Becoming a parent
- Children leaving home
