B Soc Wk, Grad Cert Suicide Prevention, AMHSW.

For the past five years I have been working in mental health, primarily with young people (14-25 years old), and in intake and crises support line roles. The majority of my clients are aged 14 and above, and I am particularly interested in working with people experiencing a range of concerns including:

  • Depression;
  • Stress;
  • Eating Disorders;
  • Relaxation/mindfulness;
  • Anger management;
  • Problem solving;
  • Social skills;
  • Communication skills;
  • Goal setting;
  • Self care;
  • and developing coping skills.

To make an appointment with Aleah Haffenden choose Online Booking or call Vision Psychology Brisbane on (07) 3088 5422 or M1 Psychology on (07) 3067 9129.

In my practice I use a mix of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I am client-focused which means we work on your goals, what is important to you, and what you would like to achieve, whilst acknowledging your strengths and building your self-belief and empowerment.

I enjoy working together to set goals and then breaking them down to creative and achievable steps, so that you can break through the barriers and work towards the quality of life that you desire and deserve.

When you come to see me, I will provide you with a safe environment, non-judgmental listening, and empathy – which doesn’t feel like work to me, it just feels like genuinely connecting with my fellow human being.

I believe in a holistic approach ie that body and mind are strongly connected, and that our environment has a strong impact on our wellbeing.

A Little More About Me

We are always learning and growing with each experience in life and I find it is important to challenge yourself, to do the things that you are afraid to do, and to never give up on yourself or your dreams.

Health and fitness are an important part of my lifestyle and I often participate in running events. I am a big fan of Disney movies, there is regular Disney karaoke in the car, and I also enjoy spending time with friends and family, reading, watching movies, going out for nice food (as cooking is not a strength of mine), and spending time with my pet lizards.
