Abbey is a Registered Psychologist and Sexologist who does telehealth/phone consultations only. She holds a Master of Science in Medicine degree, specialising in psychosexual therapy, and has completed Bachelor degrees in Psychological Science and Criminology, alongside a Postgraduate degree in Psychology. Abbey is passionate about the interlink between psychological health and sexuality, and enjoys supporting people of all ages, genders, and cultural backgrounds to enrich their sexual lives and improve their mental health.
Abbey utilises a holistic, evidence-based, and client-centred approach to therapy. Abbey’s gentle and non-judgemental nature enables her clients to feel safe and respected; she believes that the therapeutic relationship between a therapist and client is key to success. Peter ran a successful private practice in Melbourne for many years. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and clinical professional counsellor, as well as a hypnotherapist, educator, business consultant, and artist. I have been practicing since 2000 and have had vast experience with a wide range of individuals, couples and family concerns. I have been on the board of three mental health organizations and have been a professor at the Adler School of Professional Psychology and the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
My educational background includes two masters, a doctorate in a variety of overlapping disciplines – from marriage and family therapy to psychology, educational psychology, education, special education and interdisciplinary arts. My background also includes supervising and training many psychotherapists, from various different disciplines, as well as through my own private practice, and in university settings.
